1d red, lettered C D, used on a large part, grubby on the back, wrapper. The stamp is cancelled by a special? The stamp has a faint filing crease running through the left side. It is addressed to C. Queen Anne’s Bounty Office, Deans Yard, Westminster “The back of the wrapper bears a (London) receiving red datestamp for 21 JU 1841 and a faded dispatch datestamp “Leeds, JU 19, 1841. (Visible in scan 3, which I’ve contrast adjusted to be readable). There is also a pencil identification on the back from a previous owner which reads: Pl. I do not have the ability to verify/refute the plate identification. From the internet: The “Queen Anne’s Bounty Office” in Westminster refers to a historical office that managed a fund established during Queen Anne’s reign to supplement the incomes of poorer clergy within the Church of England; it was located in Dean’s Yard, Westminster, and primarily focused on distributing financial assistance to underpaid clergymen across the country. Is Christopher Hodgson, 1784 – 1874, who, worked in, and during the 1840’s, published an “Account of Queen Anne’s Bounty”.
